Good deal on CPR Big Button

I was looking for a good value big button phone with call blocking for my grandmother. The CPR Call Blocker Big Button Phone caught my eye during a seasonal sale. I managed to get it for 15% off, which felt like a decent saving. Free shipping was a bonus. The checkout was quick. The phone arrived in good condition. For the price I paid, it was a solid purchase and met my budget.

Good product, minor shipping snag

I ordered the CPR V5000 Call Blocker after dealing with endless robocalls. The ordering process on their website was straightforward enough, and I got a confirmation email right away. Shipping took a little longer than I expected, about 7 business days, but it did arrive securely packed. Installation was pretty simple, just followed the instructions included in the box. It started blocking numbers almost immediately. I did have a question about updating the pre-programmed list, so I used their online chat support. The agent was helpful and answered my query quickly. The device itself feels sturdy and well-built. It's cut down on the nuisance calls a lot, which was the main goal. Overall, a positive experience, though a slightly faster delivery would have been nice.

Effective but small improvements needed

I purchased the CPR Guardian II for my elderly parent, mainly for peace of mind. The device itself is quite good; it's robust and the emergency features are reassuring. Setting it up was mostly intuitive, but linking it to the app took a couple of tries. Customer service was responsive when I called with a question about the mobile app's notification settings, which was a plus. The call blocking feature works fine for unknown numbers, though a few still slip through if they change their ID. My only real critique is that the battery life could be a little longer, it needs charging more often than I anticipated. Good product overall for its purpose, just a few small tweaks would make it even better.

Finally some peace

So, I finally caved and bought one of those CPR Call Blocker Shields because the telemarketing calls were driving me nuts. Honestly, it was pretty easy to set up. Just plugged it in and boom, fewer weird calls. I don't know how it works, but it does. Like, I'm actually picking up my phone again without dread. The website was simple to navigate, and it showed up when they said it would. Happy with it.

How many numbers can the V5000 actually block? I get so many annoying calls, I need something that can handle a lot.

Z Zach Johnson 2 weeks ago
A ton! Like, way more than you'd probably ever manually add. Plus it comes with a pre-programmed list too.

It's a really high number, don't remember the exact amount offhand but it's designed for heavy use. You won't run out of space for blocking numbers.

Hey, thinking about getting one of these for my landline. Do they actually work with Xfinity voice? Or is it just for regular phone lines?

T Thomas Carter 2 weeks ago
Yeah, I have Xfinity and my V5000 works fine with it. Just plugged it in, no issues.

D Deborah Carter 2 weeks ago
It should work with VOIP services generally, so Xfinity voice should be okay. I'd double check the FAQs just to be sure if you're really worried, but I think most people say it's compatible.

I'm thinking of getting the V10000. Is there a big difference between that and the V5000 besides the price? Worth the upgrade?

R Robert Thompson 2 weeks ago
The V10000 has more features and a bigger capacity, but for basic call blocking, the V5000 is perfectly fine. Depends on how many calls you get and if you need the extra bells and whistles.

B Barbara Anderson 2 weeks ago
V10000 has more advanced blocking features like area code blocking and a larger blocking list. If you get tons of really specific types of calls, it might be worth it.

Anyone know if they usually do good deals around like, Christmas or something? Want to get one for my dad but don't want to buy it now if it'll be cheaper next month.

L Leah G. 1 week ago
Oh for sure! They always have sales around the holidays, Black Friday/Cyber Monday too. I'd definitely wait if you can.

They do seasonal sales, usually 10-20% off. Keep an eye out closer to December.

Is the CPR Call Blocker actually better than something like the Digitone or Sentry? Been looking at those too but CPR seems to come up a lot.

G Grace Mitchell 2 weeks ago
I've only used the CPR one, but it works great. My neighbor had a Digitone and said this one was more effective for him.

From what I hear, CPR has a pretty good pre-programmed list and is easier to set up. I can't speak for the others personally though.

Do they ship to New York City pretty fast? Need this for my grandma ASAP.

J Jason Sanchez 4 weeks ago
Mine arrived in about 3-5 business days to Brooklyn. Not super fast, but not terrible.

I'm in upstate NY and got mine within a week. I think they ship from the US, so it should be pretty standard shipping times.

What's the return policy like if I get one and it just doesn't work for me? Is it a hassle to send back?

E Elizabeth Lopez 4 days ago
Returns were super easy for me. Just had to follow the instructions on their site.

I haven't returned one myself, but I remember seeing their policy says you can return within a certain window. I'd just make sure to keep the packaging.
